The history of the Iron Range is a great story to tell! Our parents, grandparents and great grandparents came to a rugged wilderness area from all over the world and built a new life for their families right here in northern Minnesota. That makes our region a special place!
These people changed the world. The ore they mined built America, won wars, created wealth and made the nation strong.
The story of the Iron Range is fascinating and important. It has made us who we are today. The Minnesota Discovery Center’s mission is to tell that story and to show the world why it mattered then and why it still matters now.
To do that, we need your help. Please help us preserve and promote the history and culture of this special corner of the world.
