The Minnesota Discovery Center's Minnesota Media Arts School, in partnership with Zeitgeist Film, is an affordable option for the Northland’s diverse creative community ranging from filmmakers, graphic designers, multimedia artists, and theatrical artists to learn, work, create, and connect. With teaching hubs in Chisholm and Duluth, we will add important contributions to the regional film ecosystem. 

Editing Workshop - SOLD OUT

Our editing workshop is designed for students who are interested in motion picture, television, and new media post-production. Students learn theory in motion picture, television and media production and editing. They apply that knowledge by producing a variety of projects using Adobe Premiere.

Instructor Jacob White:

Jacob White is a video producer and wilderness guide based in Ely, MN. He has been editing and making media for 15 years. He honed his craft at NYU Film School in New York City during the early 2010's and has since worked as a freelancer and started his own company, White Pine Productions, where he partners with small businesses, organizations, artists and individuals to help them craft their communications. Jacob believes that the stories we tell help shape and create the world around us, and he is excited to share his skills and knowledge as a video editor to support the growth of other filmmakers, artists, and creatives in Northern Minnesota.
