Our Mission:
MDC transports area residents and guests to a space where they can connect with the Iron Range's storied past while creating lasting memories that honor the region's unique human and natural history.
Our Vision:
We will be a museum that sparks individual curiosity and inspires our community through experiencing the past to shape a better future.
Minnesota Discovery Center – The Museum of the Iron Range is a private non-profit 501(C)3 museum incorporated in Minnesota. As a non-profit, IDC is held in the public trust and is governed by a volunteer non-profit board of directors and headed by an Executive Director.
